What Grind & Cure is
Grind & Cure is a guide to home meat processing, from the hand grinder up: grinders, sausage stuffers and mixers, dehydrators and slicers for jerky, vacuum sealers, chest freezers, and the knives and saws that start the whole chain. It's written for one reader in particular — the hunter or bulk-buying household that already processes its own meat and has hit a limit. The grinder that stalls on sinew. The sealer that overheats halfway through a deer. The freezer that's full by November.
Everything here is organized around one idea: gear should be sized to your season. A one-deer household and a six-deer household need different machines, and the difference is arithmetic, not marketing. We build rankings from documents anyone can check: manufacturer spec sheets and owner's manuals, warranty terms, parts availability, public yield data from the Ohio Division of Wildlife, and food-safety guidance from the USDA and university extension services.
