The short version

As an Amazon Associate, Grind & Cure earns from qualifying purchases. When you click a buy button on this site and then buy something on Amazon, Amazon pays us a small commission. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway — the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your pocket.

That commission is how the site pays for itself. There are no banner ads, no sponsored posts, and no brand pays to be included or to rank higher.

How our links work

Every buy button on the site points to a short internal address that starts with /go/. That address immediately forwards you to the product's page on the retailer's site, adding our Amazon Associates tracking tag along the way. We route links this way so that if a product moves, or a better retailer becomes available, we can update the destination in one place instead of editing dozens of pages. Every one of these links is marked rel="sponsored" in the page code, which is how Google asks publishers to label paid links.

Right now Amazon is the only retailer we earn from. Where a product isn't sold on Amazon — for example, a model a maker only sells from its own store — we link to that store plainly, say so next to the button, and earn nothing from the click.

Where the prices come from

Prices shown inside our buy buttons come from Amazon's own product data service, and each one carries the date it was last checked. We refresh them every day. If a price hasn't been re-verified within 48 hours, the number disappears from the site and the button simply says “Check price on Amazon.” We never type a price by hand, and we never show a remembered one. The price on Amazon at checkout is the one that counts.

Commission never sets the ranking

Picks are ranked on a published rubric built from manufacturer specs, owner's manuals, warranty terms and the season you're buying for — not on what a retailer pays. We don't accept free products, loaned gear or payment for placement. Where the cheaper, simpler option is the right answer (a hand grinder for a one-deer season, say), we tell you so, even though it earns us less. What we don't do

• We don't claim to have bench-tested gear we haven't tested.
• We don't display Amazon star ratings or review counts as if they were our findings.
• We don't publish fake deals, countdown timers or “limited time” urgency.
• We don't sell or share your data with the retailers we link to.
